You all in the morning lecture section 0001, your scantron scores are up now. Also, your clicker scores are up, making your Final Exam score complete. Now you can get your final semester points total worked out.

Sec. 0002, I am still working on your clicker points.

ALSO: for all sections, I am still processing Chuck Norris data (iClicker and HW) plus several lectures worth of iClicker data. So it will be rolling into place in the next few days.

Scantron scores are now UP for the afternoon section 0002. Max possible was 79.

I am still working on the clicker points, so hold your fire on that for a little while longer.

Fast fast fast

Amazing. Today the test scoring center is moving fast FAST FAST! I can hardly believe it is the same red stapler guys.

Anyway, the afternoon section's scantron data will be up in Webcourses directly. Good.

Exam 3 is in the pipeline.

I have started looking at the clicker data for both sections and the scantrons are cooking. More on Friday, hopefully sooner.

Exam 2 scores are UP.

I just uploaded the scantron scores for everybody. You can now look at the clicker score, the scantron score and the total Exam 2 score.

33 scantrons absentees

Scantron scores for the final exam are going up in a few minutes.

Except for 33 students who have no score -- doubtless due to not having a PID or test form bubbled in. You 33 will have to wait til tomorrow when I get back up to campus.

Exam 3 scantrons are up.

Finally the guys in the test scoring center came across with our Thursday sec. 0M02 scantron scores. They are up in Webcourses.

We still have a few odds and ends to clear, like scantrons without PIDs etc.

At this point in the semester I usually start messing with the grade book rows, getting them ready for finals week. So don't be mystified if rows start to disappear for a few hours, then re-appear etc.

No scantron news yet!

Those of you in Thursday sec. 0M02 still worried and nervous about your scantron score for Exam 3... no news yet. Those guys in test scoring can sometimes be S L O W. :(

All scantron scores are up, Section 0M02.

Exam 2 scores are now complete, for the majority of both sections. Exceptions: messed up scantrons etc. that need to be hand graded.

There will be an optional homework, not for a grade, just some reading, over the spring break.

Bloopers

There were some typos on exam 1, and they affected the grading on one or two questions. This occurred for both sections!

So we will be dropping everyone's scantrons back into the test scoring pipeline for a re-grade. You might see your "..Exam 1 scantron" score change by one or two points, so do not stress out about it for now. Instead, concentrate on angular momentum, the periodic table and Exam 2 next week.

Exam 1 scantrons are now up for Tuesday sec. 0M01

Those of you in Tusday sec. 0M01 now have your Exam 1 scantron scores up. This completes the Exam 1 score for both sections.

Uploading zeros, then scantron data.

I will be uploading scantron data this afternoon for Thursday section 0M02.

So first, I upload a zero for everyone, all sections, in the "..Exam 1 scantron" slot, and then the actual scantron score for section 0M02 Thursday students.

You guys in section 0M01 on Tuesday will have a zero in that slot for another 24 hours or so. I hope to get your guys' scantron scores tomorrow, then upload.

To reinforce: I have to pad each line of the gradebook with zeros before uploading actual scores, in order to get the gradebook to compute totals etc. It is not a true spreadsheet, so it has to be manipulated heavily. It's a pain in the proverbial kiester, but...

About ..Exam 1 scantron and ..Exam 1 SMA in the grade book

When I set up the grade book before the semester starts, I always set the midterm scantron rows to be 59 points and the SMA rows to be 1 point. But I never know the exact splits until I actually write the exam.

Thursday's exam worked out to be 50 and 10.

So I just went in and modified those two rows of the grade book to read "out of 50" and "out of 10." But the other two midterms will be at 59 and 1 until the day they are taken. So Exam 2 might eventually be 46 and 14, for instance, but for now, I just leave it as 59 and 1.

Exam 1 scantrons...someday

It will take longer for us to get the scantron score back. With the university's test scoring service, you never know what you are going to get. Which means that, you guys in the Thursday section, it might be tonight that they get to our pile of scantrons, or it might be Monday!

So be patient and do not pester Dr. B about scores til next week!

CPS roster update

I just uploaded the new data for whether you are officially registered for CPS. It is in the "Registered for CPS?" row of the My Grades page in Webcourses. Nearly everyone is registered now.

You will need your CPS response pad for a significant part of tomorrow's midterm exam. Also, you'll need a raspberry-colored UCF scantron.

It will be a while until I get all the semester grades figured out, so do not bug me about grades for a few days.

OK, supper time has come and gone, and no data from test scoring on your scantron scores from Exam 4. Maybe tomorrow.

No scantron news

It is past 5 PM, and no data back from test scoring. So we must wait until Monday, maybe even Tuesday for scantron results.

Doubles

Some of you had more than one answer on your scantron, as indicated on the printouts you received today.

After class, I double checked the scantrons of several students, and many of them picked up one or two points. There was a smudge on an incorrect answer, poorly erased, and a true dot on the correct answer.

Interestingly: a few students did not get any points, and in each case, they erased the correct answer, and they bubbled in an incorrect answer! So as they say, if you change your answer on a multiple choice test, make for dang sure that you have a good reason to change it!
