One spot open in Tanner's group

A spot has opened up in Tanner's SSG. Maybe one of you reading this will notice it and NAB that spot.

Signups will start tomorrow afternoon for Saturday, Sunday and Monday SSG's.

You can click in there now and view the schedules for all but Matt's and Tanner's groups, then decide which to shoot for when signups open.

We had a football injury in my family today, trip to doctor for stitches etc.

So....

The SSG signups did not get activated at noon as I expected. However, I will get them opened at 7 PM, tomorrow night, 7 PM, and this time for sure!

SSG signups will commence on Saturday at noon.

Signups for special study groups (SSG) will commence on Saturday at noon.

For now, you can look over the schedules of the groups and see which group fits your schedule. Then on Saturday at noon, I will set the group size to 7, and you'll be able to sign up.

Noon or so, two more SSG's to sign up for

About noon today, we expect to have two additional SSG's running, for which you can sign up.

So be ready at noon or so. We will announce it here, then open it for signups.

1. SSG signups activate at noon today for the first group, as discussed in lecture on Friday. Click into the SSG folder on the course home page, and you will see this blue and white SSG icon in the SSG folder when you are cleared for signups.
2. You all in the second group, you will be activated for signups at 6 PM, Sunday evening.... if there are any spaces left!

SSG signups, Saturday midday

I expect to activate SSG signups for the first group of students about midday on Saturday. Be ready to move fast around noon or so and make sure you snag a spot in a good SSG.

One more SSG session is available.

One more SSG session is available now, a Wednesday session, but you had better jump FAST! It is the last of the SSGs to activate, and there will be no more.

SSG sign ups will open at 6 PM tonight.

The SSG signup sheet will become available at 6 PM tonight (Saturday). Follow the blue SSG icon from the home page in Webcourses.

1. Scan SSG groups to see which fits your schedule.
2. Click on one that still has room, if it fits your schedule.

You can start eyeballing the SSG groups for signups.

Right now, there are 8 out of 18 SSG sessions specified as to time and place. You cannot join a group yet, but you can start looking over the schedule and see if any of them fit your exam week schedule.

When more SSG leaders report in with their meeting info, we will be posting it ASAP.

Likely signup start = maybe Saturday lunch time or so, EDT.

SSG signups looking good for Sunday evening start

Everything is nearly ready, so it looks like SSG signups will be activated after supper on Sunday evening.

Keep your eyeballs O P E N.

SSG points will be in a separate row.

When you get SSG bonus points, it will show up in a separate row of your My Grades page. It is not formally part of the Exam 2 score, but you can think of it that way if you like. It's kind of like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich -- the peanut butter and jelly get all smooshed up together with enzymes etc. in your stomach, and by the end of the semester the SSG bonus points will all be smooshed together into your semester points total, even if Exam 2 is the midterm exam that we drop.

The plan is for SSG signups to activate tomorrow (Saturday) at about lunchtime, with first SSG sessions set to roll after lunch on Sunday. The signups page will look like this:

...and you'll be able to view the time and place where the SSG meets before you click to join. It works nicely.

Right now there are 16 group leaders, so not everyone will get a spot. But if you keep on your toes and ready to click at about lunchtime, you'll be able to maybe get a spot. Two bonus points for participating.
